The Montana common core state standard I choose to use is Standard three.

The student must apply digital tools and skills with creativity and innovation to express his/herself, construct knowledge and develop products and processes.

My learning objective.
The student should be able to make a digital storytelling project. This project should correspond with the lessons we are learning in class.
They will be able to demonstrate how to display and describe the project.

I am going to be an elementary ed teacher as well as a photography major. I am hoping to include photography in the classroom. This digital storytelling project shows the history of how America and the world have been influnenced through photography. I would most likely use this in a history lesson.  I know that I have learned so much from making this project. I think the benefits of this digital storytelling project are teaching the student how to use tools online, be able to tell a story though pictures and quotes, and keep the other students involved.
If another colleague asked me why I was using this project I would explain to them that A. the students can still enjoy learning and doing research through this project. B. The students are able to show the classroom what kind of learning/person they are through the digital story versus getting in front of a classroom and just reading a report. This helps keep the students interested in learning.
I believe students understanding how to use technology keeps them all learning together. If there is access to technology I think students should be able to use and understand how to use it. This includes technology in the classroom for all the students.
